Homemade Air Freshener

What you will need:

  • Canning Jar, any size
  • Fabric or Scrapbook Paper
  • Baking Soda
  • Essential oil or Fragrance Oil
  • (Scissors, Pen, Needle)

Directions:

Cut your fabric into a square or circle. I cut the fabric slightly larger than the lid because I like the edges to slightly drape over the jar.

(If you are using scrapbook paper use the disc part of the lid to trace on to your scrapbook paper, and cut out your circle)

Pour Baking Soda into your jar (about 1/2 full)

Next add about 10-20 drops of your favorite essential/ fragrance oil

Place the fabric or scrapbook paper inside the lid and screw it onto the jar. Using a large needle, carefully poke several holes it the fabric or paper

Gently shake the jar every few days to refresh the scent and add more oil as needed.

The baking soda naturally absorbs odors while the essential oil gives off a light pleasant scent. It is frugal and also much cuter than most air fresheners!

You can change the fabric and paper depending on your decor or the Season.

(Remember, this DIY project should be done by an adult and keep out of reach of small children)
