Make Your Own Bagged Apple Slices

And its how to save you money on pre-bagged sliced apples! They are great for throwing in kids lunches or after sports but can get really expensive! Here is how to make your own

What you will need:

  • Apples
  • Apple Corer and Slicer {not necessary but definitely makes it easier!}
  • Lemon {for every cup of water you will need 1 tablespoon of Lemon juice}
  • Water
  • Sandwich Baggies
  1. First wash and slice all your apples.
  2. Throw them into a bowl large enough that the water can cover them
  3. Fill the bowl with enough water to cover the apples. For every cup of water you will need 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  4. Let them soak for 5 minutes in the lemon water solution
  5. Bag them up while removing as much air as you can. Oxygen is what makes the apples brown!

Your sliced apples should keep without browning for up to one week when kept in the fridge!
