Easter Ham Leftover Recipe: Split Pea Soup

Looking for a recipe for Easter Ham leftovers? Here is the perfect one! And believe me it taste better than it sounds! I don’t even like peas and enjoy this soup!

Split Pea Soup


  • 1 bag of dried split peas
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 pounds ham with bone–{use leftover Easter Ham}
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 1 clove of chopped garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 potato, diced


  1. Put all ingredients into crock pot
  2. Cook on low 6-8 hours
  3. Remove bone; cut off meat, dice and return meat to soup.

This is a very versatile recipe, throw in what you like, keep out what you don’t. Its easy and very good! Let me know if you make it and how your family likes it!
